LIGHT PAINTING

I was not here Tuesday so I looked up on the web to make sure I knew how to do it. I found that besides putting the camera on a tripod you can use the camera as a paint brush. I did some of both and liked painting with the camera better.

This is the practice movie I made and uploaded to YouTube.

On Sunday we set out for the zoo but it was so crowded you could not get any where near it .The closest we could get to the zoo was the Forest Park visitor center. This is why we ended up at the History Museum. While there a local performance group Dance Discovery and the musical trio Tu'Penny Uprights performed music and dances pirates reveled in. I shot a short video of a dance lesson.

Here are the pictures I took in Flip animation mode. I took one hundred pictures from the same spot and the girls were walking around the trees.

I took a few photos of things around my house that I thought would look good in black and white but most of the pictures were from previous assignments. I do not have photo shop so I had to use Picasa. All week long I found myself looking at things and trying to picture them in black and white.

Macro Photography

I went looking for things to photograph in my back yard and Forest Park on Saturday but it was so windy that I only got a few shots. Then I found things around my house. It was easier to get the light right outside. The photos inside were much more of a challenge because of the shadows and lighting.

Artifical light portraits

My niece was more than eager to help me. It was hard to make time to do the assignment since my dad was put in the hospital. When I was doing the portraits Megan's glasses were hard to photograph so we did them without her glasses on.

Architecture

I went to the Old Courthouse downtown on Saturday and took pictures on the inside. On Sunday I went back and took pictures of the outside from all sides. Sunday was a much better day to be outside. I have come to realize that when I start taking pictures I forget to change the settings when they need to be changed.

landscape photos

I started out in my back yard doing exposure compensation then I went To Cliff Cave Park. This was the first time I have been there even though I have lived in South County for 25 years.I took a couple more shots using exposure compensation then I just keep on changing the aperture values. I learned the higher aperture values were blurry. There are two pictures I took in New Smyrna Florida and one at the zoo.

Flash assignment

I followed my husband to the driving range Saturday night so I could get some action shots. I tried to capture his swing and the ball flying through the air. You can only see the ball in a few shots. Then I took 8 pictures of him watching the Rams with the different flash settings and different ISO settings.http://picasaweb.google.com/ccrump81/FlashAssignment

PhotoJournalism

For the PhotoJournalism assignment I took my niece Arielle and nephew Tyler to Eckerts to pick apples. It was the first time either of them had picked apples. Tyler did not like apples too much but Arielle did as you will see in the pictures.

protrait assignment

I found it very challenging to do a portrait in low light. I was not very happy with any of the settings that were used. The higher the ISO rating used the more noise I had. When taking pictures outdoors the sky went between cloudy and sunny so I had to change the ISO and white balance. I don't think I would make a good portrait photographer. I would rather do candid shots.
